What a joy it is to know Christ!

Dear LTCC Family,

You showed up this past weekend. You invited friends and family to come and hear about Jesus.   You likely engaged in conversation with someone you didn’t know. You loved each other well, like you always do.

On Good Friday, you heard the “Seven Sayings of Jesus from the Cross,” by our Elder Candidates. I am proud of these men who delivered their messages with such clarity, precision, and power, by the Holy Spirit working in them. How we finished on time is pretty incredible, since each “saying” could have been a 45-minute sermon by themselves! Oh, the riches of Christ!

What a glorious time it was reflecting deeply on the atoning work of Christ on the cross (I wish I would do that more often). Part of me wants to have a “Good Friday” Service before every Sunday! Maybe we can talk to the new pastor about that when he gets here, haha.

On Easter Sunday, the “House of the Lord” was packed and you came ready to worship. The kids encouraged us and warmed our hearts through their singing, and Pastor Bob faithfully delivered the gospel like he always does. Praise God that he is of the same mind as the Apostle Paul who declared, “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15: 3-4).  Hallelujah!

Let us all continue to be unified around this gospel. Let us be ready to declare his mercy and grace to those around us. Let us point them to the cross of Jesus Christ.

I would have loved to have been in that locked room with the disciples when Jesus “showed up” among them after He resurrected. What an experience that would have been? One Bible translation says the disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord (John 20:20, NIV).  I know I was overflowing with joy this Easter weekend worshiping Jesus, and fellowshipping with you all.

What a joy it is to know Christ. To know Him crucified and to know Him resurrected.

Come, Lord Jesus Come.

For the Elders and Deacons,

Matt Moench
