LTCC Loves One Another
Dear LTCC Family,
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35
LTCC loves one another, that is for sure! We also love our community through serving, as was exemplified last Saturday at the Compassion Washington healthcare event where approximately 30 from our church body served in a multitude of ways.
Our very own Brent Allan, also serving on the board of Compassion Washington, had this to say about the event:
A huge THANK YOU to our Good, Good Father for the many gifts of love and compassion we experienced at last weekend’s Compassion Health Event in Sumner. After 3 years of LTCC stepping up to participate as an anchor church in unity with other local churches, one wonders how the blessings just keep on coming and get even better.
It was exciting, and quite humbling to see what God purposes to do through His Holy Spirit in the hands and feet of the body of Christ. God sees each one of those in our community that have unmet needs, and like this weekend, does something about it.
119 guests received very special care and spiritual and physical healing by those who touched their lives on Saturday. Every one of the 12 dental stations, medical rooms, and specialists were continually busy with local professionals and support staff sharing their trained skills. After months of coordinated preparation, teams of loving shepherds, church connection, hospitality, registration, security, medical, prayer, childcare, dental, set up, and interpreters all worked in unison for one purpose, to love one another and glorify our God.
As we at LTCC follow up on the needs and prayers requested by guests, we are also very aware of who else received the blessings from this experience. Acts 20:35 makes it clear: “In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
It’s certainly clear that Christ calls us to love and serve one another and that it blesses us all to do so…but what that looks like for you may be radically different than what it looks like for someone else. What a blessing that we are all uniquely gifted to serve Him!
Finding the spot(s) in which God calls you to serve can feel daunting, but it doesn’t need to. What has God given you a heart for? What do you notice that maybe others don’t?
What opportunity will you take to love and serve one another? See if anything from this list piques your interest...
