Anticipation

Take a trip with me on the Way-Back-Machine. Do you remember a time when you could count your age on your hands? It seemed like everything had a heightened sense of urgency or importance and upcoming events had greater anticipation.

The lead-up to Christmas was almost unbearable. You felt like you would burst if it didn’t come soon. I still remember when my world revolved around a guitar. I was obsessed. Christmas came around and I had a big box with my name on it, but it was very square shaped. No way was a guitar in there. I was crushed. As I went to half-heartedly open my present, my mom jumped up and switched the name tags between my gift and my older brother’s gift. He did have a long box! I was so head over heels that I’m still talking about it over 50 years later.

I hope you share the heightened anticipation that I currently feel about the future at LTCC. We pray, we plan by the leading of the Holy Spirit, we hope, we dream about how God will use us to bring glory Himself, to equip the saint and bring souls to Christ. I am so encouraged by the close of Ephesians 3.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.    Ephesians 3:20,21

Contemplate the new vision statement to join on this journey with Jesus - Pray, Grow, Give & Go.  Maybe you or I might have an image in our head about what that glorious future at our church may look like. What is most encouraging to me is that God is “able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think”. He is able, He is always able.
