daniel geske - treasurer

I was raised in a loving Christian family right here in Bonney Lake, Washington. We went to a couple different churches when I was growing up before landing at LTCC in late 2007. I was in high school at the time and immediately felt at home here. In 2012, I moved with my family down to California, but when I finished graduate school in 2016, I returned. I resumed attending LTCC, became a member, and started helping out with youth ministry. In the summer of 2018, the call went out that the church was looking for someone to serve as Assistant Treasurer. I've always had a pretty good head for numbers, so I volunteered. I served in that capacity for two years before taking on the Treasurer role at the beginning of 2021. I met my wife Danielle (Yes, Daniel and Danielle. We know. It's adorable.) at LTCC way back in 2008 and we got married in September of 2023.

As Treasurer, I am not responsible for one specific ministry. Instead, it is my job to take care of the bookkeeping side of things so that all of our church's wonderful ministries are able to function as intended. In an effort to be "above reproach," our church always strives to conduct our finances according to the highest standards of ethics and transparency. My responsibility is to ensure that the tithes and offerings we collect are stewarded wisely in accordance with the budget that is drawn up by the Church Council and approved by the congregation at our annual meeting.

In Matthew 9, it says that our Lord dined with tax collectors and sinners, which I have always found quite comforting since I have been both. When I am not serving at the church, I manage the Washington State Department of Revenue's Tacoma Field Office where I oversee state tax collection activities.
