For as in one body we have many members,
and the members do not all have the same function,
so we, though many, are one body in Christ,
and individually members one of another.
Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us,
let us use them.” (Romans 12:4-6a)
Being part of a church family implies working together as a church family. Everyone has chores – something they’re able to do to serve the family and the family’s mission. Not everyone in the family can do the same thing, but each is enabled and placed in the body to do something (1 Corinthians 12:12-14).
So, at LTCC we regularly make known the many ways -- big and small, in the spotlight or behind the scenes – that are available at LTCC so that everyone has something they can contribute to the family. Whether it’s leading a ministry or supporting a ministry; teaching a class or greeting congregants and visitors as they arrive for worship; fixing a furnace during the week or helping someone find a place to sit on Sunday morning; faithfully praying as part of our prayer chain or reading Scripture periodically before the sermon;
when every part does its part, it builds up all the parts (Ephesians 4:16).
Serving the saints is one of the ways we know, and we show that we have been born again (Hebrews 6:9-10).
Serving with the saints is one of the ways LTCC seeks to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) as each part of the body plays a vital role in making disciples.
