doug goodwin | LAY ELDER

I was born and raised in Centralia WA. My family were not regular church attenders. After I became friends with the son of an Elder of a local church, I started attending even though the rest of my family did not.

I accepted Christ in 5th grade, but in hindsight it was like the proverbial “seed which fell on the rocky ground.” There was no root. By the time I was in High School I had fallen away from the Lord, and this continued through my time in college.

After college graduation, I moved back to Centralia. I met Robin and we married in 1990. Robin’s desire to be close to God, belong to a church and for us to be active in a Small Group Bible Study was the avenue used by the Holy Spirit to break through my rebellious spirit and surrender to God.

In the previous churches we attended I had served on Building Committees, Men’s Ministries, taught Sunday School, served along with Robin as Christian Education Directors, led Small Group Bible Studies and eventually served as an Elder.

Robin and I started attending LTCC in 2007 along with our three youngest children. In my time at LTCC I have served on the Building Committee, helped lead and/or host Small Group Bible Studies, served in Men’s Ministry and as a Greeter and an Usher.

Robin and I have 5 adult children and two granddaughters. I’m employed as a Structural Engineer.

Robin and I are so grateful for the community God has provided at LTCC and for the wisdom of the Leadership to go through this transition process with Interim Pastor Ministries (IPM). We are so encouraged and excited to see what God has in store for LTCC.
