My family moved to Bonney Lake in January 2022. We sought the Lord’s guidance on which local congregation to attend, and He brought us to LTCC.
My high school sweetheart, Sydney, and I grew up in a very legalistic denomination; but at the end of high school, I lost a dear mentor and abandoned Christianity altogether. After years of atheism and searching for the Truth, the real and living God broke in, and I entrusted my life to Jesus. Sydney and I left legalism behind and have come to cherish and celebrate the incredible grace of God as He renovates us more into His image every day.
I was a campus minister at the University of Tennessee from 2013 to 2015, after which I stopped my seminary training to become a lawyer. I made this transition believing that with the unique gifts and affinities God put in me, I would do more effective work for the Kingdom of Heaven as a lawyer. After attending the University of Alabama School of Law, I began practicing in Seattle. In my practice, I represent injured people against insurance companies and other corporations, and every day on my way to the office I thank God for the privilege of fighting on behalf of the poor and powerless against those who would exploit them if left unchecked.
We have three elementary-aged children, and one of my greatest joys in this life has been to witness Sydney homeschooling them with such wisdom, empathy, and patience.
After my years of skepticism, I wrote about my journey from atheism to hope in a little book titled, “A Path to Heaven.” I firmly believe that God is eager to reveal himself to anyone honestly seeking; and my family is thankful to be a part of LTCC’s mission, putting the love and wisdom of Christ into action in this community and around the world.
