The Great Commission is for All of Us!

Dear LTCC Family,

One of our core values at LTCC is the “Great Commission” given by Christ in Matthew 28:18-20. It is the responsibility of the church until He returns. Jesus commissioned followers of himself to go make disciples, baptizing them and teaching them to obey. He is telling us to share the Gospel with our families, our neighbors, our nation, and around the world. Opportunities for this have never been greater than right now. We, as followers of Christ, have the opportunity to be more excited than ever to fully engage and capture the passion of missions.

Paul says in Romans 1:16-17,

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith,[a] as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

Missionaries trust in the power of the Gospel as a calling from God to live a life of faith. Part of that is trusting that the members of the body of Christ will come alongside them to support them in their journey; prayerfully, financially, and by personal encouragement.

What are some ways to support our missionaries?

Through Prayer

  • Visit the LTCC mission’s website and click on a missionary to see their latest update.

  • Sign up for individual missionary e-mails, so you can get updates as they arise.

  • Send a quick e-mail to a missionary and let them know you are praying for them.

Through Financial Support

  • In this day and age many missionaries are financially under supported and yet faithfully depend and trust God for their ministry and personal needs.

  • Financially supporting missionaries blesses them and will bless you.

  • Giving information for each missionary is on their specific webpage. Start here!

Through Encouragement

  • Lunch with the Burtons: You’re invited to attend a luncheon after church on May 7th to encourage missionaries Evan and Kathryn Burton and hear how God is working through their ministry. Register online to help us know how much food to purchase and childcare needs.

  • Prep the Parsonage for Myers: Missionaries Micah & Laura Myers will be on home assignment for several months and will be living in the parsonage. You can help by donating new and gently used items to prepare the parsonage for their arrival. You can find the list of opportunities to give here

Our prayer is that each of us will have our hearts open to the call of the Spirit to speak and lead us humbly to serve through missions with our respective gifts. The Great Commission is not optional for us as believers; it is a beautiful command we get to joyfully obey as we partner with Jesus and with one another in the mission of making disciples!
