Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving. As the name implies, it’s a time to give thanks. A time to consider all that our God has given us. Usually, we think of something like a new house, good health or wonderful children, etc. Let me suggest to you that the greatest thing that we could be thankful for from God is what He tells us about Himself - who He is.

In Psalm19:1 and Romans 1:20 the Bible says that God has revealed who He is in creation itself (general revelation). As we look into the night sky, we begin to appreciate His greatness (infinitude), His power, His sovereignty, and His creativity in the diversity of His heavenly bodies and in the animals and plants around us. Each morning when we see the sunrise we can thank God for His sovereignty over the physical universe and His faithfulness.

We can thank God for how He has revealed Himself in those He created in His image. We see in people examples of His love, burden-bearing, compassion and fellowship. In the church (the bride of Christ) we see the relationship He originally intended between Himself and Adam’s race. We see a glimpse of the eternal relationship we will have with Him in Heaven.

I hope that as you gather for Thanksgiving next week you might give thanks FOR the Lord, and not just thanks TO the Lord.

NEW! Ministry Minute

FACILITIES
Nick Jacques

Deacon

We have a number of amazing ministries here at LTCC! While I wrap up my first year as the Facilities Deacon, I feel so blessed to be a part of this ministry.

Facilities isn’t always viewed as a ministry in the traditional sense, especially when you see it on a list with Missions, Love One Another, Men, Women, Children’s Ministry and many others at LTCC. But to be in Ministry is to serve, and I have had the privilege to serve alongside many different men and women this year as they have volunteered their talents and time with various facilities related tasks.

God has gifted each and every one of us in a way to further His Kingdom! With Thanksgiving next week, I feel like it is a great time to let each of you know how Thankful I am that you have answered His Call to use your gifts in serving our Church family!
