Elder | Deacon Review
We are happy to report that the results of the first Elder/Deacon review comments were overwhelmingly positive and encouraging. We wish to thank you for your prayers, kind words and support. The Elders shared the comments with the Deacons for their encouragement also.
There was a question from one individual who said they were not sure what the Elders did and wanted more transparency. Mike Tedrow was gracious enough to make this the subject of his Elder Encouragement in the January 23rd LTCC Weekly Newsletter. I appreciated his analogy of the work of the Elders to Icebergs where some of the work is visible, but there is a great deal that is unseen, but needed. Also, just to remind everyone that a copy of the minutes of the Elders meetings can be obtained from the church office with sensitive information redacted. Since the meeting minutes are approved by the Elders at the next meeting, the approved redacted copy should usually be available a few days after approval.
Another comment was made indicating the church’s vision was lacking in outreach. The vision that we are “Joined Together on the Journey with Jesus as we Pray, Grow, Give and Go” is the framework for our Vision. LTCC works with many other ministries such as Reality Sports, Compassion Washington and GriefShare, but we agree that more needs to be done toward outreach. The Elders are working on what that looks like, but we also want to leave room for the input from our future Lead Pastor.

I am excited about our annual ladies tea happening on February 22. I’ve been attending these special teas for as long as I can remember and I always look forward to a time around the tea table where I (and all of us) can put aside life’s busyness and instead be still and focus on him. And fellowshipping with other ladies is always a highlight for me.
Registration deadline is 9:00 a.m. on Feb. 21st. If you would like to host a table, let us know that too.
And it’s never too early to sign up for our Women’s Retreat happening March 21-23 at Rainbow Lodge in North Bend. We will experience spiritual refreshment as our very own Leeanne Needham will be speaking on the theme: Fear Not and Forget Me Nots.
You can find out more information and sign up for the Women's Tea and Women's Retreat on our website.
