Help Is On The Way
Their brother had fallen gravely ill. They knew he needed to see the Doctor. No hospitals, no ambulances, no “911” to call. They sent the Doctor a message, which he eventually received, but didn’t come right away. You see, the Doctor was on his own schedule. A couple days later, he arrived and found the sisters weeping.
“If you would have come sooner, he wouldn’t have died,” the sisters cried. They had suffered a great loss. The loss of a loved one. They were processing what had happened to their brother and trying to make sense of it. Little did they know, this happened so the Doctor would get glory, people would believe in him, and God’s greater plans would move to fulfillment.
What would the Doctor do? He was deeply moved in his spirit and would even weep as well. He went to the tomb where this dead man lay and he raised him from the grave. The Doctor, our Lord Jesus Christ, made meaning out of the mourning with his power and presence.
We have some in our congregation who desire to help others process the loss of a loved one, and enter into their pain, providing hope through the biblically based ministry of GriefShare. A couple hours after this letter goes out, LTCC will be holding our first of thirteen GriefShare sessions. If you know someone who is grieving and could use help, they can join at any time by following this link. Let us be a church that cares well for the brokenhearted in this broken world.
NEW! Ministry Minute
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
Deacon
Along with the many ID studies that have started recently, our next session of classes in Family Ministry began this week as well. For the following nine weeks, Discovery Club, Rooted and the Parent Equipping class will be meeting on Wednesday evenings.
While the kids are learning about what it takes to be on mission for Jesus (using the book of Acts), the parents will be discussing how to disciple their kids throughout the various stages of their young lives amidst a post- Christian culture. This class focuses on our Family Discipleship Pathway where we highlight significant milestones in a child’s life.
Both parents and kids will come together on April 9th to celebrate the end of our session with an event called Family on Mission. At this event we will also brainstorm ways our families can serve our local community this summer.
