Spring is officially here!

Dear LTCC Family,

Spring is officially here! This is a season many of us are reminded of what we love so much about the Pacific Northwest. Lush green forests, abundant wildlife, colorful blossoms, beautiful waterfalls and baseball season, of course. Even though we will still have our share of gloomy, wet days for a few more months, there will be plenty of sunny days sprinkled in there hinting at the beautiful PNW summer just around the corner. God has wired us to appreciate beauty in his design. We know this to be true but often overlook it or take it for granted.

A few weeks ago, we celebrated my wife’s birthday. She woke that morning to find a bouquet of flowers and a gift left on our front porch. Her reaction was much like yours would probably be, she was filled with joy, appreciation and an instant desire to know who left her this gift so she could thank them and show her gratitude.

The air we breathe, the nature that surrounds us, and the life we live is a gift left on our “front porch.” How often are we overcome with a desire to praise God for the beauty of His creation that we enjoy on a daily basis!?

I confess, I tend to get caught up in life, to-do lists, hobbies and often overlook the many blessings God has laid out in front of me. As I continue to integrate more into my new role as the facilities Deacon here at LTCC, I am constantly reminded of what a blessing it is for us to have this place to worship up on the hill! Owning our property, parsonage, and church building provides stability and flexibility to share the Gospel through various ministries. The most important feature of a church structure is how it is used to glorify the name of God and uplift people in our community. Owning a facility like ours, allows us to sink deep roots into this community and continue Loving God by helping people follow Jesus.

Even though it is clearly a huge blessing, with ownership comes responsibility. There will always be a need for regular maintenance and repair costs. I am so grateful to be a part of a church family that faithfully supports the proclamation of the Gospel through tithes, participation in church events, and stewardship. Thank you for your faithfulness!

For the Elders and Deacons,

Nick Jacques
