New Creation
Today I was watching a movie called “What If.” It's about a man who left his studies as a seminary student and became an investment banker instead. Through the help of an angel, he was shown how his life would have turned out if he’d followed God's plan instead of his own.
Of course this is just a fantasy. Life isn't like this. But as Christians we do have a promise in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that if we are in Christ, we are new creations, the old is passed away. As we abide in Christ, each day He guides us by His Holy Spirit into new paths that lead us to be the person God designed us to be. Because God has a unique plan for each of us, we can rest in the knowledge that His plan is good and will accomplish His will (Jeremiah 29:11).
Just like us as individuals, God has a plan for us as a body here at LTCC. As has been noted in several of the recent weekly updates, we are about to embark on a new phase in our life as a church. Next week we take another step on that journey as we engage with Andrew and his family. We’ve arranged for multiple opportunities during the week to get to know Andrew better. If you haven't looked at the background material for Andrew, you can still do it here.
I'm eagerly waiting to see what God has in His plan for us.

SENIORS
Deacon
Paul, in his letter to the Philippians encourages us to rejoice in the Lord always. To emphasize his point, he says ‘again I say rejoice’. The journey our body has traveled recently has been a growing experience and filled with God’s blessings. Our monthly meeting as seniors for a meal, aka potluck this month allows us to be part of that candidate process as we welcome Pastor Andrew Middlekauff and his wife Edith with rejoicing, food and fellowship. Lunch will be the second Friday, April 11th at 1:00pm.
Our weekly coffee, April 10, will take place at the church instead of at Haggens on Thursday at 9:00am with Andrew. We have some Senior Ministry events in the planning stages, more to come later.
I have heard the book of Nehemiah also called, ‘Lord, hand me another brick’. In hindsight, God has been faithful to do just that!
