Discernment
If your childhood was anything like mine, you have many stories of questionable decision making. Even as a young man, I regret that often I needed to learn the hard way. This resulted in more than one embarrassing situation or trip to the E.R. As a young Christian I struggled to use spiritual discernment in decision making. Looking back in hindsight on some of my decisions, it seems there was less wisdom, and more hoping God would bless my mess. Some of us are a little slow on the uptake but find encouragement in God’s word.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” James 1:5
“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
LTCC showed discernment when we sought the assistance of Interim Pastor Ministries (IPM) to help us through our ordeal. Pastor Bob’s leadership has been an incredibly stabilizing influence at LTCC. IPM’s process had Pastor Bob conduct one-on-one interviews, reading meeting minutes, watching video sermons all to get a sense of the state of LTCC. Through the recommendations of the Transition Team we have called additional Elders, updated governing documents, and established a Pastoral Search Team all while placing a priority and emphasis on prayer and seeking the face of God. The first fruits of the PST will be on display on Palm Sunday in the form of Pastor Andrew. May we all be abiding with God in prayer and asking Him for wisdom.

BOB & TERESA REISTER
RETIREMENT CELEBRATION
MAY 2-4 | 2025
In 1992 LTCC became the Reisters sending church as missionaries to teach school to missionary children in Japan and later to be church planters in Japan. Bob later became the Field Director and Teresa became the Women’s Ministry Coordinator.
Celebrating decades of missionary service teaches the church that missions is a long-term endeavor. Bob and Teresa are an example of that. We want to celebrate their 32 years of tilling soil, planting seed, and preparing the fields for harvest.
"I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth." 1Corinthians 3:6
Every missionary has a story to tell. The Reisters will be sharing what God has done and what future plans lay ahead. We want to invite people to rejoice with them and enthusiastically acknowledge and appreciate their ministry of faithful and persistent service to God’s calling in Japan. Hear Bob and Teresa’s story:
Friday May 2 - Bob and Teresa will share at Senior Potluck.
Saturday May 3 - Bob will be speaking at Men’s Breakfast.
Sunday May 4 – Bob will be sharing the message at our Sunday worship service.
After the service there will be a fellowship time. More information to follow.
