LTCC Serving the Community

Dear LTCC Family,

This week, we've asked Brent Allan to provide a recap of the Compassion Clinic held last weekend in Sumner.  Thank you to Brent for quarterbacking LTCC's participation this year.  And thank you to the many who volunteered and served our community so well.

___________

LTCC was hard at work last Saturday doing our Father’s business at the Compassion Clinic and Reality Sports events.  And what a great weekend it was.

Compassion Clinic:  Dozens of LTCC participants served together with 4 other local churches to provide medical, dental, physical therapy, chiropractic, optometry, and haircutting services to 127 members of the community. (A visual glimpse: Compassion Connect Clinic 2022 Photos)

It was clear that God was intimately involved every step of the way; encouraging each of us to get involved, providing the gifts and talents needed, clearing numerous roadblocks, receiving food donations, professionals, funding from anchor churches like our Lake Tapps family, and reaching out to more people in need than last year.

Many Ukrainian refugees requested services, but we did not have interpreters….then we did.  We did not have enough dental providers…..then we did.  Teams needed more help, then help came.  Where God guides, God provides, and God’s people were praying from the beginning.

There always seems to be two clear observations at these compassion clinics; the loving, professional care received by whoever enters the clinic, and the gifted, hard-working, humble service and Christian unity of the volunteers doing whatever it takes to honor God in serving others.

While the actual number of people and services provided is very encouraging, watching God’s people leaning in to share God’s love and the Gospel of Jesus Christ is quite the reward, especially in these tumultuous times.

For those interested in statistics, 127 guests received a total of 59 medical services,90 dental procedures, 51 eye care, 32 chiropractic, 33 Physical Therapy, 30 prayer and 36 Haircuts.  A total of 331 services. And many shepherds, prayer warriors and volunteers prayed with and for guests all along the way.

As we know behind every number is a personal story, therefore, I would like to share what a guest (who was an interpreter) shared with us.

“My wife and I lived a good life in the Ukraine prior to February 23rd, then our city was bombed, and we lost everything. The saddest thing is that we can never return to our country. Today, we are happy to see our people receiving the services they need. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! “
