Our Posture of Weakness in Prayer

Dear LTCC Family,

The last few months coming together to pray before we worship each week has been so edifying. There has been genuine thanksgiving for how the Lord continues to meet us even in the midst of trial. Sometimes there has been silence just to meditate. We have also cried out for God to meet us, change us, and guide us in our weakness. Heartfelt supplication.

When Jesus was in the garden of Gethsemane the night he was arrested, he shared his own weakness with Peter, James, and John. “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death” (Mark 14:34). Jesus allowed his friends to see him at a low point as he cried out to the Father. This is what we do when we pray together. We admit our weakness and cry out to God for his strength. Jesus modeled for us the appropriate posture in prayer.

This posture has positioned us to meet again as a church family for a Member Meeting immediately following our time of worship on Sunday.

  •  9:15 am – Prayer before worship

  • 10:00 am – Worship service

  • 11:30 am – Transition

  • 12:00 pm – Lunch (provided) / Start of Member meeting

The Member meeting will include celebrating ministry highlights from the past year, results of the leadership affirmation process, and review and approval of financials. As a reminder, please choose to abstain or submit your affirmation vote if you haven’t already before midnight tonight (Friday 11:59 pm).

Although we encourage all members to attend the meeting in person, we understand it is not always possible. If you would like a link sent to you to watch via livestream, please register HERE. There will be an opportunity via livestream or in person to submit questions digitally during the meeting.

If you are a member and unable to attend in person or view the livestream, please contact Council Clerk, Leeanne Needham (leeanne@laketappscc.org) and let her know you will not be in attendance.

May we come together on Sunday in a way that honors Jesus, petitioning God for provision in our weakness.

On behalf of the elders and deacons,

 Brian
